Parent Teacher Organization

The organization's main objective is to enrich the lives of our children through educational, social and recreational activities. The parents and teachers work together to achieve this objective. All parents and teachers are members of the PTO.

The By-laws of Serene Hills Elementary PTO, as well as the  2022 -2023 PTO Budget is also available for review in the PTO Forms & Documents

Roxi Tsakas
 President 

Roxi has 2 boys, one in 8th grade at HBMS and the other in 5th grade. She spends her time watching her boys play sports, swimming in Lake Travis and soaking up the sun in the Caribbean. She is a native Austinite, Longhorn fan, and a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Public Relations

Cristin Woodruff
 Vice President 

Cristin has a son in Second Grade at Serene Hills and a daughter who will be a Kindergartener in 2022. She is a native Texan and she and her husband own a real estate company based in the Midwest and East Coast. In her freetime she enjoys being on the lake with family and friends,traveling, cooking, and entertaining.

Monica Browne
 Secretary

Monica has boy & girl twins in the 1st grade at Serene Hills.  She was born & raised in Dallas, TX and attended St. Edward’s University.  She has worked in talent logistics for the last 19yrs. In 2018, she moved back to Austin with her family to be closer to her parents, 4 sisters and 8 nieces & nephews!  In her free time she enjoys spreading positivity, practicing Taekwondo, and having fun with family and friends.

Katie Berndt
 Treasurer 

Katie Berndt is mom to two daughters - one in 3rd grade and the other in kindergarten.  She's a born and raised Midwesterner, but graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin.  She lived in Chicago, Denver, and the San Francisco Bay area before returning to the city she knew was home.  Previously, she did marketing for wine, chocolate, and apparel companies. These days she teaches fitness classes to children and adults

Loni Castaldini
 Fundraising Events 

Loni Castaldini has three children, two attend Serene Hills Elementary (4th and 1st Grade) and one at Lake Travis Middle School (6th). She is very active in her children’s lives and loves being able to be a stay at home mom. Loni has a background in education and loved being a Kindergarten teacher for 5 years. She is also a regular Substitute Teacher at Serene Hills Elementary School.  In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at Serene Hills Elementary, traveling with her family, running, being on the lake and reading.

Jodie Dover
 Fundraising Programs 

Jodie Dover is a mother to two boys - a Serene Hills fourth and second grader who are 10th generation Texans!  Both boys are involved in a variety of sports as well as cub scouts.  Jodie is a University of Texas grad who works full time in digital marketing.  In her downtime, she is active in her church, loves to travel, and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Catherine Sult
 Programs 

Catherine Sult is a mom to 3 boys.   Her oldest is in 7th grade at HBMS, and her other two are in the Fourth and Second grades here at Serene Hills.  During her free time she enjoys gardening,  organizing and woodworking.  She was an interior designer and  owned a photography business before moving to Lakeway.

Makize Zarabi
 Volunteer Coordinator 

Makize Zarabi is a mother of three.  A daughter in 7th grade at Hudson Bend Middle School, a son in 4th grade and a daughter in 3rd grade at Serene Hills.  Before moving to Lakeway, she was an active member for over seven years at her children's previous school's PTO.  Working from home has given her the flexibility to be extremely involved in her children's lives and their school activities.  She is currently a PTO member at both Hudson Bend Middle School and Serene Hills Elementary.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, planning parties, and doing anything involving crafts!

Rachel Ellis
 Communication 

Rachel Ellis is a mom to one that will be a first grader this year at Serene Hills.  Working from home has given her the flexibility to volunteer at Serene Hills.  This is her third year on the PTO board, second year as the garden chair and has also started substitute teaching.

She is originally from Dripping Springs and went to Texas State University.  In her free time she enjoys spending time outside with her family and dogs, being out on the lake, and digging in the flower beds.
